The design was created by Seraphine Lewis. Sera is Squamish and Haida, raised on Squamish territory indulged in the Squamish culture. As a vegetarian, she identifies as a berry picker.
Featured on the right leg of the shorts is an image of salmonberries, the first berries to come out in Coast Salish territories in the early spring.
